 My family and I made a quick trip to Ireland over Thanksgiving, a Memorial trip for my husband who passed away almost a year ago, the trip was a success, I am now just catching up on commission work . I really want to paint a few Irish scenes, it will be next !
but for now, I did this quick little pastel before I left and just posting now!  I love this little church on the coast of Maine, a special place for the Bush family .

Quill Hill is a beautiful place outside Rangeley  in the Western Mountains where you are able to drive to the top and see miles and miles away with all the different ranges of mountains of the area , it is worth the trip! this scene was coming down the hill with wild flowers everywhere .

I was looking through some of my past summers watercolor, and I remember painting this one , it had to be the cutest cottage on that street on the edge of the ocean , I am glad I did when I saw it, because the year after it had lost it's appeal, probably a different owner who didn't care about flowers. So when you see something that really speak to you ,paint it!

Yes I did go to the Maine coast for a few days with my artist friends, I had a great time and did a lot of sketching in my book, some I would like to paint them again in a larger format, more to come....

Mother's day in a couple days!  This painting always reminded me of the old days when all the moms use to hang all the laundry out , it would come back in the house smelling so nice and fresh!  I still hang on a nice day, I painted this a few years back while I was painting with some friends and one artist  did her laundry ,I went out there with my easel in the yard to capture this scene. This painting is available. It would make a great decor for a Laundry room.

Couple days ago , I just looked out of my window and Spring had arrived! here in New England it's a bit slower then the rest of the country, I was exited to see some pretty flowers just pupping out everywhere, so i just wanted  to capture it, as we know it is short lived .I  didn't have a lot time so decided on a mini , they are always good for beginner collectors . You know you are in New England when you can still find a little Country store in operation, this one is in the next town of where I live and very popular with this little town. I always  have been intrigued by it being in a corner  of two roads, It has a lot of history, it was used for a movie some 20 years ago. For a longtime I said to myself, I am going to paint it! Well I did and it sold right away.Collectors love to have a connection with some of the paintings, and this one remembered going there as a small child!

A very enjoyable commission of two beautiful dogs ,I didn't have the best photos to work with,but knew they often sat together. The parents liked it! So that was the best part. When I do pets ,I like to do them in pastel.

 This Winter I have been in the mode of painting small winter scenes around town , I have painted the bridge a couple times before , but it was rebuilt since I did the last time.
 I was at one time very much involved with the beautification of the bridge, many in New England have  been neglected but few years ago this one was rebuilt with bran new timbers to meet the new code.  Very fortunate to live in this quint town in New England where my subjects are endless.

In January  I took a drive along  the coast of Maine ,we barely had snow and now we are expecting a blizzard. On this drive I came upon this large cottage with the bottom windows boarded for Winter,but I just imagined how this house was waiting for it's summer residents to enjoy it's beautiful beach  with children running around ,people sitting on this wrap around porch enjoying the gorgeous Sunsets. OK, I am dreaming ! tomorrow we are getting 18 to 24 inches of snow, In March I know the snow will melt quickly and Spring will be here.
