 I always been fascinated with street scene ! over the years, I have painted different scenes ,landscapes,seascapes animals, etc...   but seems to go back to the street scenes . So I probably should concentrate on that, they seem to call my name ! 

My paintings are all originals , some are done on location , some are after I have visited an area and go back home with some reference to work from ! I strive to be original work. 

If  I don't blog as often I used too, it's because I do a lot on Facebook and Instagram.

You know you are in New England when you can still find a little Country store in operation, this one is in the next town of where I live and very popular with this little town. I always  have been intrigued by it being in a corner  of two roads, It has a lot of history, it was used for a movie some 20 years ago. For a longtime I said to myself, I am going to paint it! Well I did and it sold right away.Collectors love to have a connection with some of the paintings, and this one remembered going there as a small child!

Another painting from my trip up North ,while it was cold and snowing, I still could paint under the deck of the Inn, i was all set up with my paper and palette ,as I was putting a wash on the paper  and noticed it turned to crystals almost immediately but kept on painting ,then the color was also freezing on my palette , it was kind of fun to see it ! working fast I kept on painting and later came in and watch my painting defrosted , I was left  with some nice effects on the paper ,I probably should of put some alcohol in my water and this wouldn't happened .

I was in New Hampshire  couple years ago at my favorite place at Sugar Hill when I came upon this scene of a Coke machine at a closed Golf course house, I taught it was a bit funny! what came to my mind was "Ice Cold " and this would make a nice painting, so I did a large one !
   18x24 in pastel ,it was part of my show last Spring at a Gallery in Massachusetts. I framed it in a black plein air frame, I do get lots of compliments for it,but would love to find the right home ,if you are interested email me nlcasey@charter.net

Last month my friends and I had gone painting in the White mountains, this year being a strange Winter, we went with all intentions to paint snow, but all we found was dormant grass that would turned gold with an Alpine glow in the evening and this was the golf course in front of the Inn, I had gone previous years and painted this same scene with lost of snow! I worked from a photo I took a few years ago, my friend and I had gone to Keene,NH early in the morning when we came upon this fog lifting from a bog. The best time to take really nice photos is early in the morning and at sun down with it's long shadows . I have so many reference photos to work from because I believe what ever I paint, I must have experienced that scene with my own eyes, and that is what I feel it's an original for me. Downtown Lowell

Having a studio in one of the old mills in Lowell, I have come to really love this Old Mill City full of History ! This week end alone we will have open studios  at our Mill the Western Avenue Studios from noon to five both days,  also a wonderful show at the loading dock gallery, called Winter Lights . Friday night  A wonderful gala at the Whistler Museum with an auction to help raised money to keep the Museum going , it is one of the oldest one in the Country!
