Mt. Lafayette , pastel © 2020 Nita Leger Casey
I could paint this mountain everyday of the week and it would look different, as the atmosphere is ever changing. When we arrived on February 25 , the excitement of seen that mountain and our friend Dave Drinon already at his easel, made me take mine as soon as I could and quickly take my pastels out, and just do it . The sun has gone out a bit! In the next few days,we had every kind of weather possible and off course snow, but it is our goal to paint in snow and call it snow camp. I don't know how many time I have painted that tree, but it always looks different as well. This is a little late to reminiscing about snow camp, but Covid 19 has thrown a bit of unusual in all our lives. And good times of memories are a good thing !

Denise's bed
Denise's bed,©2018Nita Leger Casey
Watercolor
While at the Inn at our February Art retreat, Denise and I rented this beautiful room with twin bed and this is when I decided to do a bed series, I painted this one there, just a small one 4x5 . I have many other beds to do, but also have to paint a few commissions in between, so it is taking me a little longer then I though. So stay tunes!

In February ,my friends and I went to the Sunset Hill Inn for a mini painting retreat, and I decided to paint our rooms and beds, kind of a fun project ! and the beds had to be messed up, to be more interesting. So here is one ,this room is very pretty and also has a fireplace.

Fog over the mountain

I have just spend three magnificent days up in these mountains doing plein air painting with wonderful friends, our third mini retreat .
Staying at the beautiful Sunset Hill at Sugar Hill.
The weather was great just enough snow to make this place magical. I mostly painted in watercolor , the previous years I had painted this scene in oil and pastel.
this painting is 11x14 and it is available .

Ice cold Coca Cola
"Ice Cold Coca Cola "
pastel 18x24
©2017 Nita Leger Casey
I was in New Hampshire couple years ago at my favorite place at Sugar Hill when I came upon this scene of a Coke machine at a closed Golf course house, I taught it was a bit funny! what came to my mind was "Ice Cold " and this would make a nice painting, so I did a large one !
18x24 in pastel ,it was part of my show last Spring at a Gallery in Massachusetts. I framed it in a black plein air frame, I do get lots of compliments for it,but would love to find the right home ,if you are interested email me nlcasey@charter.net

6x8 watercolor

Last month my friends and I had gone painting in the White mountains, this year being a strange Winter, we went with all intentions to paint snow, but all we found was dormant grass that would turned gold with an Alpine glow in the evening and this was the golf course in front of the Inn, I had gone previous years and painted this same scene with lost of snow! I am not complaining because last year we got more then our share . This watercolor is available, email me if you are interested ,nlcasey@charter.net

Studio again today , juts wanted to finish my # 2 painting that was painted on location and needed some final touch , i can't believe it took me a year to do this , what happen is my life is so busy, when i get back from a trip I have to catch upon chores and next thing you know another painting trip and on and on ! I really need an apprentice like they had in the old days ,too bad I can't afford one and a secretary , same here can't afford it , not easy being an artist !
I do love spending time in my studio at Western Avenue with no interruptions ,check it out.
We are waiting for a snow storm witch is due , the South is getting it all ! tomorrow will be a day to really do some catch up !
