Neuburryport Street scene

Neuburryport Street scene !

I always been fascinated with street scene ! over the years, I have painted different scenes ,landscapes,seascapes animals, etc... but seems to go back to the street scenes . So I probably should concentrate on that, they seem to call my name !

My paintings are all originals , some are done on location , some are after I have visited an area and go back home with some reference to work from ! I strive to be original work.

If I don't blog as often I used too, it's because I do a lot on Facebook and Instagram.

This dory was on my list to paint for some times, a few years actually ! I always see it when i go visit Plum Island . I first did a miniature of it and was happy with it, so this past week decided to do it larger, it will be in my atelier this week end during open studios. I didn't get to post last night , my husband 's computer crashed and now he seems to like mine , while waiting to use it I feel a sleep . This is the other painting I painted while at the studio the day before , a scene I have been wanting to do for awhile from a visit to Newburyport , a very quint and historical seaside town in Massachusetts , not to be confused with Newburry street who is in Boston. I am a bit tired of the snow right now and wanted something a bit more cheerful, also wanted to get back to some watercolors .
I think I forgot to mentioned , I have joined the Loading Dock art gallery at Western Avenue ,if you are in the area and the artists you are looking for is not in , the gallery gives you the opportunity to see many beautiful piece of art from jewelery , pottery ,quilts photography paintings and more ... and special shows .

From the same trip to Newburyport ,this Starbucks coffee shop caught my eye , the light was perfect , I am not a Starbucks coffee drinker , a bit too strong for me ,and I am not advertising for them , but I must give them credit wherever they sit up shop , they keep the buildings that goes with the architecture of the town .
so many chains , just tear down old buildings to put some ugly structures .

Every ounce in while I visit the beautiful towns we have on the coast of Massachusetts ,they are very touristic and full of histories , the store fronts are wonderful and this one happen to be in Newburyport , that purple dress in the window called for attention .

Artist statement

I am an Artist who has painted most of my life and enjoy every minute of it. My journey in the art world continually evolves keeping up with the time, I paint in many different medium and love them all. My collection of work is primarily in oils and I use watercolors for commissions, illustrations, and pastels for my own pleasure. My love for architecture shows in my work and many have compared my style with Edward Hopper. I feel honored to be compared with such wonderful artist. I paint daily in the studio and plein air when weather permits. I try to paint from life as much as possible. Last year I gave up teaching art after thirty years of private classes and, now enjoy my former student’s accomplishment in the arts. Many collectors around the world own my work and hope many more will in the future.

The best is yet to come – enjoy my journey!

Handy Hints to Successful Art Buying Online

You can make your online art purchasing experiences a lot of fun, and stress-free, if you just take a few moments to follow some tried-and-tested advice.
These hints will give you the very best chance of finding quality works of art, and receiving the art in perfect condition.

1) If you see a piece of art you like on a favorite artist's Blog, don't be afraid to request a couple more photos of the work. Most artists will happily oblige. You might like to see close-up detail of some section... or perhaps an image to confirm the coloring is consistent.

2) Look for the artist's email address. Apart from a direct email contact, artists often post contact phone numbers. They do this for a reason. They would like you to phone them. So do it! If you'll feel better talking to a 'real person' make the call. But I would always recommend making direct email contact with the artist.It's helpful to have a line of communication from the point when you make your purchase, to the point when the work is dispatched to you. Most artists also would like the opportunity to follow up and ensure the work has arrived safely. Don't simply place your order and make your payment. Take the opportunity to communicate with the artist. It will make the whole process run more smoothly.

3) Consider purchasing more than one piece of art at a time.If you fall in love with the work of a particular artist, consider purchasing a piece and leaving it with the artist. Then, when you see another work by the same artist you wish to purchase, ask for both pieces to be sent together. This will reduce freight costs considerably. Most artists will be happy to hold a paid artwork in storage, especially if they realize it's because you wish to purchase a second piece.

4) Email the artist and ask them if they have any artworks not yet posted on their blog.Some artists don't have the time to post every piece on their blog. Or some pieces are displayed, and then taken down after a time. It doesn't hurt to ask the artist to email images of any works they have in their 'stock room'.... and it can be a way to discover secret treasures.
