Maine sky

pastel 6x8 ©
Nita Leger Casey
I didn't paint today, I really wanted too but other commitment that comes in your life and sometimes you have to take a break like going to church to say good bye to a  dear friend who lost her battle with cancer. Then it made me think of Maine and missing the beautiful sky by our place where we have a cabin ,when we close in October ,I  know it will be six months before I see it again, so it is something to look for, we are half way there!
This painting is available ,just email me nlcasey@charter.net

Trapp Falls ,New England

18x24 pastel ©2014
Nita Leger Casey
This is a larger painting I just finished this past week,  my husband and I took a Sunday ride just to catch some foliage, I think we just did it in time before we had a storm that took lots of leaves down , my yard is now covered!  the years past  I would rake them all, now I have a landscape CO. do the job, just too much to do for my old bones.
These falls are about 10 minutes from my house in a State park . So lucky to live in New England!  email me if you are interested , this is a larger painting !

I want to wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving and hope you have a great day with your family and friends !
Our weather in Massachusetts was rain all day ,but I know many of you probably got some real bad one from what I see on TV .
My knee is doing better everyday and I really have taken it easy , I though I would paint more , but therapy and all little chores have taken my time. I am thankful for a wonderful daughter-in-law who is going to cook  the big diner tomorrow .   Happy Thanksgiving to all!

The fields of Gilman road

5x7 pastel,©2013
Nita Leger Casey
New England is at it's best right now! everywhere you look you see these beautiful colors ,it is truly an amazing show of natural beauty.
I have been out  of commission with a bad knee ,so this week end we stayed close to home, normally we are at our pond, I was lucky to see it two weeks ago ,this is the road going out to the main road ,i just love the long shadows.
Well it looks like i am getting a new knee , a bit scared of the process , many of my friends had it done and happy with it so I am going to look to the positive and forget the horror stories!  so the next few weeks I probably will be posting some works that need a home . email me nlcasey@charter.net

Halloween House in New England

Watercolor 8x8 Copyrighted 2011
Nita Leger Casey
Last week I was driving through the town of Hudson, NH and was stopped at a red light when this house really caught my eye it just looked like Halloween season or maybe haunted, I loved the strong light on it, I know the tree is in the middle but I think it added to the look of spooky ,anyway I just had  seconds to snap a photo  before the light turned green . I painted this at my studio today after having a nice lunch with my artists friends in the third floor.
Yesterday I had a terrible day after getting bit by a tiny deer tick again it was hooked on me for at least 18 hours , after many calls to doctor, nurses etc... I received a doses of antibiotics,I already have Lyme in my system from another bite a few years ago ,they are now very bad ,my neighbors got bit twice last week .
This painting is for sale ,email me if you are interested nlcasey@charter.net
