5x7 pastel on board (c)2012
Nita Leger Casey
Yesterday with full of energy and a must clean the house, this type of work is getting the least of my favorite things to do as I get older, I remember when we lived in Italy I was so proud of cleaning every day waxing all my marble floors, dusting and waxing all the furniture, now the house gets a deep cleaning when someone comes over to stay or when I can't stand it anymore, anyway in the afternoon I got tired if this boring job and decided to paint this little pastel.
Oh another good news I heard this Saturday while at the plant sale at our local Library, A mother of a past student was so happy to tell me that her daughter who I had for many years as an art Student is now the Deputy Director of textile design for Martha Stewart, I was so happy to hear this, it was the best reward ever to hear of of your student has done so well, better than a prize for myself .
Before I became a daily painter I had a small art program at my house every day for over twenty years , many of my students have done wery well, so proud of them !
This painting is for sale $100.00 shipped ,email me nlcasey@charter.net

If you have traveled to Lubec on your way to Campobello Island , you have passed this cottage ,malheureusement it has fallen in despair in the past two years ,I painted this a few years ago when the light was was shinning on this beautiful place , I feel so bad when some of these places just get forgotten . Maine has a lot of them , I always look for these special cottages and hope some young couple will save them . As for now I am looking for someone to love this pastel painting and be part of their decor on a nice wall , It also has the feel of a Grandma's house , so about it , the price is right $295.00 , email me nlcasey@charter.net

5x5 oil on board
I wish my morning at the pond would be like this painting , but no, it was raining today and most likely tomorrow, New England has had it's share of rain this past month, I had all intentions to go out this morning to do some plein air. I think I will have to paint some still life ,if the weather does not clear soon .This painting is available , a good memento of a summer by the pond ! email me

This little painting was started on one of my last plein air trip in Maine and never finished , so today I decided to finish it , sometimes you start something and your heart is not in it , and a year later you see it with a fresh eye . Yesterday I went to Portsmouth to attend on of my friend 's opening beautiful paintings by Marilene Sawaf , a must see if you are in the area at the Three Graces Gallery.
If you are interested in this little painting , email me nlcasey@charter.net

Another sketch from my collection of summer quick sketches on location , I always like to work a small one before attacking a larger view, I can work out my composition or problems with colors , actually when I was done with this larger one , it completely looked different , it is sort of a warm up ,with watercolor you want to be sure , oils I just wipe out . This week being very busy , I am posting these little gems from my sketches .

The back streets of Lubec
The first week of my stay was at the Tide Mill farm , making it our 15 th year painting in the area, a warm welcome was waiting for us when we arrived. This lovely farm feels like we have come home when the eighth of us get there.
Making my daily paint out in the streets of Lubec, Maine with it's charming cottages and old Victorian houses , and the beautiful seashore .
I am now back home and must sort out all my work.
all my paintings are originals and copyrighted.
This is a pastel 8x10 painted on a board.
