I think summer has finely arrived in September, a bit late but beautiful! this is another version of the wildflowers I pick every summer,this is a watercolor 8x10 matted to a 11x14 .
The temperature is going down , the days are getting shorter, I think fall is in the air, it is one season I do like! I paint all over New England and this scene was painted a few years ago on the island of Nantucket , the farmer's markets are very popular at this time of year ,everyone is picking their wonderful summer crops.
These last few days have been so hot and muggy, I have to push myself to do things ,but i did managed to paint this painting of my friend's chicken , she had taking a photo of them while they were relaxing on her favorite chair, this is a typical lawn chair I grew up with in France, remembering that they would collapse very easily! it's funny chickens love to be on things like this , I have a few nice pictures of my own chickens .

I was working on a commission today and was getting anxious to do something else , I had bought these fresh flowers at our local Farmers market and I just wanted to paint them before they would wilt on me, so I pushed the commission aside and just did an impromptu still life , but became very frustrated as it was just not coming out as I wanted . It was one of those days !
This was painted last week on a nice sunny morning on the Island of Campobello, NB ,Canada
Why do I feel the summer is going to be gone before I know it , I don't seem to have time to relax and enjoy the long days , this week end I will be painting a two days paint out in the hills of New Hampshire at a Garden called The Fells in the town of Newbury, after I will be going for two weeks on the tip of the coast of Maine on a painting marathon , try to paint as much as possible, all this means a lot of driving. But that is the life of an artist!

This is an acrylic painting on paper , it has the affect of a watercolor, done on location one evening at our summer art retreat in Down East Maine.
I have been in a watercolor mode these days ,with summer flowers all around me I guess watercolor is a better medium. Well today was a very hot day , one more before it cools off a bit, I know why I don't live in Florida .
