Le Chateau de Fontainebleau

 Chateau de Fontainebleau
Watercolor 6x8 (c) 2011 by Nita Leger Casey
When I was a young , This castle was one of my favorite to visit with my family , at the time not so much for the castle itself but the gardens and the fish ponds , they used to have the biggest red fish in it , I only lived about an hour from it ,so it was a Sunday ride or a school field trip , the inside is just beautiful! I took this photo a few years ago ,Tim and I had lunch right across the street from it .If you go to France ,this is a good one to visit , this was my choice to paint today at the studio in a very rainy day .Email me  nlcasey@charter.net if you are interested in this watercolor .

"Oriental Peony"
Watercolor 6x6, copyrighted 2010
Nita Leger Casey
I have these in my garden right now ! but already are drooping on the ground , they are beautiful , it's sad they last such short time in bloom .
My yard is looking so nice right now , lots of work to keep it up ,that is why I have a broken back after all the planting and mowing etc..., I went to a chiropractor for my very first time today , I was a bit apprehensive , a friend of mine recommended it, I told him I was going on a mini art retreat and needed help right away , he was very nice to take me as a walk in , it did help! Going to paint with the Pastel painters of Maine , it should be fun !
this is a lovely square shape painting ,would look nice if you are a collector of flowers .

"The garden is planted" , copyrighted by Nita Leger Casey
5x7 oil on canvas

All my flowers are planted and my small garden also , now a mix of rain and sun should do the trick . I think more and more people are planting , it's great to see the process of getting fresh vegetables from your own garden . The next two days will be a lot of planning for my trip to Canada to the Art Symposium .
It should be fun ,and looking forward to meet the other artists.

The Gazebo, copyrighted 2009 by Nita Leger Casey
Pastel 5x7

Thinking I would have a terrible day today , because I had Jury duty, I was in luck when the case did not go to trial , I was out by 10:45 , just in time to join all my friend painting plein air in a beautiful private property with all the trees in bloom , and a gracious hostess who made us a lunch ,what more could you ask? and I was able to do two daily paintings. At the court, I managed to do some sketching of a few the jurors reading the paper , it's something i would like to practice more it's figure sketching .
email me if you are interested .

Victorian house in Maine

Why do I feel the summer is going to be gone before I know it , I don't seem to have time to relax and enjoy the long days , this week end I will be painting a two days paint out in the hills of New Hampshire at a Garden called The Fells in the town of Newbury, after I will be going for two weeks on the tip of the coast of Maine on a painting marathon , try to paint as much as possible, all this means a lot of driving. But that is the life of an artist!
This is painting of a old house I found in Maine I used my artistic licence with the landscape.
11x14 painted on a stretched Russian linen email me if interested nlcasey@charter.net
