Sketch challenge for the next 30 days

Pen and Ink sketches , a challenge for the next 30 days with my Art friends, sketching can be very rewarding and relaxing, the challenge is fairly easy for me , I sketch all the time ever since I was a small girl,it got me in trouble a few times when I would sketch on very important papers at my father's desk.
So to all my art friends ,keep on sketching!

Couple weeks ago the snow was finely melting around the coop,  I opened the door for the chickens to come out ,well they were so afraid to step on that snow, it  took two days for them to step down in the yard , here they are peeking and thinking about it! It was a long Winter to be cooped up you would of though they would of jump at the chance, but that is why we say : what are you chicken?

Summer of sketchbooking

 Sketching by the pond with friends! actually had them doing it as well for the first time.will

I have not posted for awhile, I sort of took a break from  daily posting, but never stopped doing painting and sketching where ever I went, back in fourth to Maine and a trip to Kentucky in August . I love sketching and just wanted of share a few of my summer sketches and when I was not doing that I was painting larger pastels of barns . Will try to get back in the routine with my new work!

While at the studio today I decided to try this new aquaboard I had ,I bought this pack when I went to Savannah ,as you know me by now I am always ready to try something new , having a picture of my chickens , that would make the painting of the day! It had a different feel to it ,remind me of the Youpo paper ,the one thing is you are able to frame it like an oil .
It sure turnout to be a beautiful day today, I sure hope it continues .

Pierre was a rooster I raised from couple days old , he grew up to be a feisty rooster , but beautiful .

I just started a new series of Roosters , Pierre my first rooster, raised from two days old who I have painted many times , his coloring was so sharp , the only thing that kept him alive was how beautiful he was , because he was nasty at time ! chasing me in the yard.
The style I used , looks very French!
Three more to come , they are coming out nice!, Jake , Henri and George to follow !

Yesterday my friend and I went to the New Hampshire pastel society meeting , a very nice group of people working hard to get all the members together from all over the State , we had a demo after from a young talented woman Dawn Gardetto who's work is just beautiful .
Today I managed to do a bit of cleaning in the flower beds .

Well, a year ago I painted chickens , and will again for a week , Right now in my yard I have seven roosters and nine hens most are from the spring batch, not all mine , my neighbor and I

share them all, they are the most beautiful birds, the sad things is some of the roosters will end up in a pot before winter ,not my pot! because I am too attach to them .

These last few days have been so hot and muggy, I have to push myself to do things ,but i did managed to paint this painting of my friend's chicken , she had taking a photo of them while they were relaxing on her favorite chair, this is a typical lawn chair I grew up with in France, remembering that they would collapse very easily! it's funny chickens love to be on things like this , I have a few nice pictures of my own chickens .

From the Band of brothers

This one is from the band of brothers ,like seven of them , having a field day with digging for worms.

Going to an opening of a miniature show at the Francesca Anderson art gallery in Lexington, always looking forward this event every year, many of my friends are in the show, where most miniatures are up there in the prices , if you are a collector take advantage of all the wonderful art work at daily painters because you are getting a bargain!
