New England is at it's best right now! everywhere you look you see these beautiful colors ,it is truly an amazing show of natural beauty.
I have been out  of commission with a bad knee ,so this week end we stayed close to home, normally we are at our pond, I was lucky to see it two weeks ago ,this is the road going out to the main road ,i just love the long shadows.
Well it looks like i am getting a new knee , a bit scared of the process , many of my friends had it done and happy with it so I am going to look to the positive and forget the horror stories!  so the next few weeks I probably will be posting some works that need a home . email me nlcasey@charter.net

At the cabin for the long week end ,the colors are at peak in Maine , painted this from the window at the same time I was cooking an Apple pie for our guests who are coming over for an October fest dinner , this is a short post ,must get the table ready !

A cool fall day it was , leaves are falling fast , went to Sugarloaf mountain to the art show , a light wet snow was falling , it tells you winter is right around the corner. All the artist had a great show of work ,lots of people were there .
I painted this pastel on the way back, I figured by next week these colors are gone .

Just came back from the same spot I painted yesterday , just a different angle , it is so magical right now ,I feel blessed to live in New England . I love doing pastels at this time ,but i think I should do some oils also , I might tomorrow!
I am posting early ,got to go buy a birthday present for my first granddaughter who is turning 16 tomorrow! is was like yesterday she was a baby, time going too fast!

Spending a few days at the cabin while the colors of fall are so beautiful , here is a view from our front deck, I think fall has come early this year at least a week , I love painting this season ,the most beautiful one in New England ,I painted two today one in oil and this pastel , I still think pastels are perfect for these colors , pastel is a medium that stays so fresh and bright, the drown back with them they have to be framed under glass, the positive is they are permanent .if you are interested in this painting Email me

I painted this early this morning ,inspired by my morning walk with Clancy ,I walk with two other friends and our dogs for an hour each morning, the morning sky is always so nice that I want to go paint right away,a great way to start your day!

Yesterday, I decided to give my blog a new look , I had the same look for the last two and half years, hope it won't be confusing for anyone .
I decided to not post any more chickens , they was too many on Daily Painters ,and way too many in my yard right now , but I do enjoy watching them!
After going to the pastel show on Saturday ,I felt like doing more , so here is another one of a scene on the coast of Maine .

I just change my computer ,I am not doing well with the change of Vista , so different then my old one ,I am spending so much time trying to get my files , photos etc..
I am still working on my fall scenes , soon it will be over, my yard is covered with leaves,Lots of work ahead to get rid of them .
I just love this farm and have painted many times at different seasons .

The weather has gone crazy in parts of the states , Snow! Oh no ,not yet, fall is not over!
Well tonight I painted this nice fall scene in front of an audience at the Chelmsford Art Society, it went very well , I also talked about blogging and many other art related things , I could of talked all night with a very nice group of artists .

Beautiful fall day here, I made a turkey dinner today to cheer up my husband ,also had my family over but in between I managed to paint this scene, I took a photo of it last week while coming back from a painting day , I love the colors and the reflection of the trees and the color of the weeds in the water,if you are familiar with New England , you know a scene just like that .

My life has been very busy these last few day with some family emergency , my husband in the hospital with some health issues , He will be OK ,but the next few days I must take care of him first. the skies in September and October are very dramatic and just beautiful.

I am just about finish with a large commission ,after this I really want to go back outdoors while the leaves are still on the trees and capture the last beauty of the season, I am also still having computer problem , I had bought a new one and after three weeks of problem with this new machine ,I packed the whole thing and returned it to the store and picked a different one .I just hope this one work the way it's supposed to.

At the edge of the pond in fall,copyrighted 2008 We are back home after a nice five days in Maine where the colors where just the most beautiful, I just love New England in the fall!
I managed to paint plein air paintings everyday and it felt so nice to be outside .I also worked on some larger work , will show later.

I went out plein air painting this afternoon on the road to our cabin , it was just beautiful almost past peek , only a week left before some wind will take all the leaves down, it was so peaceful !

The show was nice, the whether was a beautiful September day , but the costumers did not want to buy ,I think Wall Street was on their mind! so all my beautiful paintings went back in their bags ,back in the car to a ride home and back to the studio, I really wanted them to find a nice home. Oh well! that is the life of an artist ,
