Cottages comes in all shapes, some nicer then other, but I always see the beauty of a structure and think of the lives who have lived there. Sometimes I go back to that same place and it is gone ,they have replaced it with big house, and feel sad ! This scene of a cottage and Spanish Moss was in a small town called Bluffton SC, I couldn't find that little cottage again !

while visiting South Carolina this past week end ,I took lots of reference photos of the Old South , the historical houses which I love , if the walls could talk in this little guest house !
The progress is coming to this little town , it has changed a lot in the last five years , I hope they keep the quintessence of it , many houses are razed to put a new one , and the Country side is growing with Gated communities .
I think I captured the Spanish moss on the live oaks , some of those trees are just beautiful .
This little gem is available , email me nlcasey@charter.net

A dreary day today ! rained must of the day , kept me busy painting most of the day , and also made Easter cards for my grandchildren , they came out so nice , I hope they appreciate all the work that went in to make them . I love making cards !
I have painted this scene a few times , in watercolor in oil and pastel , it's a typical Maine landscape that you never get tired off , hope you all enjoy it ! if you are interested email me nlcasey@charter.net

This is the cottage where some of the cousins used to live , in a small town on the ring of Kerry, when my son was younger, like 30 years ago , we would spend our vacations there and he used to say , I love it here because everybody knows us ! when the relatives used to come from America it was a big deal , I think all of that has changed , but it sure was fun to step back in time, and I am glad all my children and grand children have experienced both side of their roots , Ireland and France. My younger son used to say he was Farish,he made it up .
I always take commission work , if you have a photo of a house that means lots of memories to you , contact me ,nlcasey@charter.net

Eastport cottages
The days are getting shorter , the nights are cooler ,I feel the summer coming to an end it goes so fast like a flash!
I still feel very lucky to reside in this part of the states ,where the landscape is going to change with it's bright orange , red and yellow colors, a must see if you have not visited in New England , it is a painters dream .

If painting was the only thing we had to do ,it would be great!
I painted this scene on location on a very hot day last year,

Cottage on the hill
This was a study, done on location this past summer, for a larger painting ,witch I later painted. but sometimes the sketch captures exactly what you wanted, and this was the case, the end of the day with a bright sun light on the cottage . I love to do those small sketches on location just about anywhere , with no large set up. I am hoping to achieved this next week in France
