My studio is located in a town with lots of history, and this painting of the Luncheonette has plenty, sad to say the owner has got old and the place is closed. I took a photo of it last year. of course added some life to it by adding people, I love to paint these little Street scenes, I did many in the passed ,some still need a home . This scene is in Lowell Massachusetts .

Forgotten dory
Forgotten dory ,6x8 watercolor ,©2016 Nita Leger Casey
Found this dory on one of our Sunday drive a few weeks ago while visiting Kittery Point, Maine. I think it had seen better days, but wondering how many times this fisherman went out to his lobster boat with it, I am sure every small dory's have a story to tell! #kitterypoint #Mainecoast #dory #watercolor

Busy square in Portsmouth
Watercolor 6x8 © Nita Leger Casey
From the Southern Street scenes to the North, here is another street scene in New Hampshire in the lovely town of Portsmouth , a place I love to walk and admire the little shops and have coffee at our favorite place on the square, part of our Sunday rides. Portsmouth has so much history, you can find houses from the early 1700 still lived in , one of the oldest port I believe. It also has beautiful galleries and restaurants. I should be a tour guide in my next life! This painting is available $100.00 mated , email me nlcasey@charter.net #portsmouthnewhamphire #NitalegerCasey #NewEngland

The red shed
watercolor 8x10
© Nita Leger Casey
The last two weeks have been a real challenge living in New England, after receiving 6 feet of snow, I have spent my days cleaning and shoveling snow paths for my dog and a way to get to my chickens. We all complain about the snow of where we are going to put more snow that is coming ! but late this afternoon it was just beautiful to see the late sun hitting the buildings and long shadows across the fields and then a beautiful sunset! I guess as an artist I see beauty in any weather!
This painting was done awhile back, it's a scene in Pepperell, I just love this little red shed!
it is available , email me nlcasey@charter.net

Down in the village
Watercolor 8x10
copyrighted 2013
Nita Leger Casey
I painted this during the week but just getting to post it now, this was a scene from my recent trip to France, I just wanted to capture this great light, that got my attention while I was at this village visiting a castle above this little town, and the scene called for a watercolor .Today was a bad day for me, my beautiful hens that I have painted a few times ,well this morning a predator killed them ,we think a fox my neighbor thinks a hawk ,not sure? I feel so bad for my little rooster who survived and now is all alone, he did put out a fight ,feathers all over the place.

Market street,Lowell MA
watercolor 8x10 (c) 2012 .
I had a nice week end in Maine relaxing and sketching and also worked on this watercolor for my solo show in November. What I liked in this scene was the nice sunny day with the strong shadows across the road, I think I captured what I felt that day. The downtown of this old mill town has made a comeback with nice restaurants and gifts shops,it has a lot of history and the town welcomes many visitors, interesting tours of old mills and museums are offered. My goal for this show is to capture some of the best of Lowell. Having a studio at Western Avenue has opened my eyes on some of the local scene.
