Blue bird and berries

4x5 pastel ©2015
The last few days during our New England snow storms, blue birds have come to visit , I have been fascinated with them and taking a lot of photos and sketching them, every year they do come looking for the Christmas berries I usually have for decoration on my deck .It was snowing like crazy and they had a feast! today I went to the feed store and got more food for them ,they like meal worms hoping this will keep them around.

Winter farmhouse

Pastel 6x8 copyrighted 2013
Nita Leger Casey
I painted this old house last week as a small watercolor, and I went by the house after the snow storm and loved the way the branches had snow on them and framed the whole scene, today I  decided to do it in pastel. Boy is it cold outside tonight! just went out to put the light on for my chickens, only the second time this year so it's not that bad, and we are in New England and that's the way it is.
If you would like this pastel , email me  nlcasey@charter.net
