Snowed in!©2018

I would say half the country has been snowed in this past week , well that was me at my son's house last week. I made sure I brought my sketchbook with me,  while we got about 15 inches, I was comfortable doing was I do best, a pen in my hand and a sketchbook!
Just added a little color with the American flag !

Hills Beach

Hills Beach ,Maine  sold
11x14  pastel ©2017 Nita Leger Casey
This was a commission painting for someone who loves their path to their beach !
This was captured the day I went there, but this scene changes daily, different sky, different colors of the grass and how wild the ocean can get. A beautiful place!
If you are interested to have your own beach done, let me know!

Winter farmhouse

Pastel 6x8 copyrighted 2013
Nita Leger Casey
I painted this old house last week as a small watercolor, and I went by the house after the snow storm and loved the way the branches had snow on them and framed the whole scene, today I  decided to do it in pastel. Boy is it cold outside tonight! just went out to put the light on for my chickens, only the second time this year so it's not that bad, and we are in New England and that's the way it is.
If you would like this pastel , email me  nlcasey@charter.net

A flag for a friend
Watercolor 16x20 (c)2011
Nita Leger Casey
I was framing this painting today getting ready for open studio next Saturday the 2 nd of April , just before I framed it I made some miner adjustments , I had painted this on location couple years ago and just put it away like many paintings I do, sometimes it is good to look at them again, you might see it with a different eye .They was a story with this painting, the flag is not always on this barn , but his friend had passed away and the man decided to put the flag up in his memory ,this was the story I was told while I was painting it in a very hot summer day in Lubec. Well the painting is framed now and it will be at my open studio . Also have to get ready for a show at Chelmsford Library , so more framing to do !If you are interested in this paining email me nlcasey@charter.net
