Another dream,  places to go without worrying, sure hope it will come soon, to be free to go where we want. The North End of Boston with it's rich Italian heritage, with wonderful bakeries and restaurants . I can smell the bread and the wonderful aromas that comes out of these places, as I am writing this.
 So I will dream a little longer just to be safe !

It was such a beautiful today in Massachusetts after a long winter, it was also Patriots day and Marathon day in Boston. But my friends and I headed to the woods to do some Plein air painting ,this little spot couple towns over was the perfect spot for it with the sound of the water rushing through was totally relaxing for a few hours. this is available , email me if you are interested .

You know you are in New England when you can still find a little Country store in operation, this one is in the next town of where I live and very popular with this little town. I always  have been intrigued by it being in a corner  of two roads, It has a lot of history, it was used for a movie some 20 years ago. For a longtime I said to myself, I am going to paint it! Well I did and it sold right away.Collectors love to have a connection with some of the paintings, and this one remembered going there as a small child!

My studio is in one of the  old Mills in Lowell called Western Avenue Studios, The railroad tracks goes right by the Mill and trains often stops  right there for a period of time. So I  had the opportunity to paint a few of them. Lowell has Mills throughout the entire city, this one happens to be where the Brush Gallery is located, one day I was going there and the light was just right and wanted to do it in a really loose way, you know how I paint ! I have a way to ad too many details sometimes, so this time I stooped myself and left it  loose, I figured I got the light!

I went by this scene two days in a row, I kept looking at the shadows on the bright red brick, and you know when I see something that hit me, I have to paint it ! it's up the street from my house, my town is very cute and very New England I have endless scenes to paint if I want. I have chosen Pastel and kept loose ,more impressionistic style. Normally this scene should be deep in snow, it is now February and still no snow, I am sure we will get some at some point !

From my last trip to Boston last week when we went to the International show , when we came out of the Cyclorama ,the sun was  setting on the city, the light was just beautiful,  the people going home from work where creating these long shadows , I think I have recreated that scene !
Tomorrow it's Thanksgiving , I imagine everyone is cooking and baking already , My daughter -in-law will cook the turkey and host our family dinner , I am just making an apple pie .

I didn't get to post last night , my husband 's computer crashed and now he seems to like mine , while waiting to use it I feel a sleep . This is the other painting I painted while at the studio the day before , a scene I have been wanting to do for awhile from a visit to Newburyport , a very quint and historical seaside town in Massachusetts , not to be confused with Newburry street who is in Boston. I am a bit tired of the snow right now and wanted something a bit more cheerful, also wanted to get back to some watercolors .

Another wonderful Spring day, to come to an end for the week end , I guess we need the April showers for the flowers . I will be dog sitting my grand dog and mine for the next few days , I wonder if the dogs will let me paint or being needy and demand all my attention .
This window is a bit unusual being on the second floor, the spring flowers made it special . I will be going back to Boston next Tuesday , really want to get some good restaurant scenes .

Here is my # 2 dress shop , fun to paint ! wish I was young again to wear these cute dresses , I love dresses , and use to wear lots of them , now our way of life is so casual , I miss it ! Some of my friends think I still dress nice but I really don't not Like I use to . When I went to Quebec last year for the first time that is where people still dress nice just to come to an art show . I think they have kept a nice tradition .
I am posting early today ,taking Tim out for his Birthday , we are off to a Brazilian restaurant !

Last week while on Newbury Street , I went to see some of my favorite Galleries , I also visited the many small dress shops and boutiques along this great Street in downtown Boston , this street are all Brown Stone shops and residence, if you visit Boston , this street is a must !
my camera on hand everywhere I go , I was fortunate to get a few good dress shop , here is my first one .

When you are gone for four days , the work piles up , so today I did a lot of catching up.
and I am still working on a house portrait . I also came back with tons of beautiful scenes I experienced this week end in Maine with the snow and the houses all decorated , very inspiring and I am dying to work on that , of course the days goes so fast!I need to finish some things first.

Plum Island, sea weeds stacks Last week I had taking a quick trip to Plum Island for a drive , it's about an hour from my house , a great way to get to the ocean and visit Newberryport ,MA in the same time . A lovely town with art galleries. This painting is from my last trip there , I made it a bit more a fall day then winter, but I have been there at that time so I know what it looks like, they always have the stacks there from weeds from the march.
I am still working on the kitchen project , but coming along good , hope to be finish soon.
