Hydrangea's on quilt,copyrighted 2009, Nita Leger Casey

5x5 watercolor

Decided to do another quilt painting, not sure if I like it yet ?I think the flowers are too close to the quilt colors, the quilt is an antique I bought in South Carolina a few years back, the flowers are from my garden, the wicker chair I just bought for $ 5.00 at a garage sale. It takes a lot of prop to do a still life ,I am always looking for things .I probably will paint this quilt again with different flowers.

Fresh peaches on quilt.copyrighted 2009 ,Nita Leger Casey

5x5 watercolor

A few weeks ago I made this quilt, red being my favorite color , I had fun doing it.Today I decided to use it in one of my still life , quilts have been a big part of my paintings when I paint for a possible greeting card design, most of the time I had also made the quilt, people like them as they are comforting, who does not remember a quilt a grand mother had made, it's also a great craft ,mine are very simple ,I have gone to quilt shows and I am so impress with the work that goes into them ,much more than me painting them, this watercolor is available Email me

This is a painting I had started a few years back and never finished , today was the day , I took the pastels and gave it a makeover with a looser effect , the red door made me paint this cottage in the first place , and the Maine fire weeds are always nice when I go in the summer . Today was the Portland show , I missed not going there mostly to visit with my artists friends, but the weather has been so hot and humid I was glad I did not go after all , I sure hope they had a good day! if you are interested in this painting let me know in a email .I am asking $300.00 matted , free shipping .
