So many cottages on the coast of Maine,  some are loved and some are not, but I always find the beauty on all of them .

Pastel painted on Location in a foggy and cool morning while everyone else was baking on the East coast,I am back in land still in Maine but now feel what everyone was complaining about .At one time in my 200 mile journey back to my cabin in the Western mountains of Maine it was 97 degrees, very unusual for this part of the country .I must say we sure had the best two weeks painting in the Lubec area , a lot of new work done and took lots of photos .

Have you seen the beautiful moon last night and tonight? well it sure was my subject yesterday. A week has gone by already my good friend Paula is going home tomorrow ,we sure had wonderful week for painting and had a lot of fun , we did ended the week with a trip to Eastport and visited lots of galleries, talked to many local artists .
I am here for another week ! so more paintings to come from this area.

This is a painting I had started a few years back and never finished , today was the day , I took the pastels and gave it a makeover with a looser effect , the red door made me paint this cottage in the first place , and the Maine fire weeds are always nice when I go in the summer . Today was the Portland show , I missed not going there mostly to visit with my artists friends, but the weather has been so hot and humid I was glad I did not go after all , I sure hope they had a good day! if you are interested in this painting let me know in a email .I am asking $300.00 matted , free shipping .

I have been out of sync these days , I was involved with the art show ,witch was wonderful , at the same time my husband's surgery, and he is now recuperating fine, also finished some small commissions , my painting time has been rushed to say the least .I also want to start a new series , but it will have to wait , tomorrow we have a theme on Daily Painters , so today I am posting a piece I did on location in Maine a while back ,painting on clay board gives you a different affect , it almost look like watercolors , I used very thin layers of acrylics for this affect.

I keep thinking that spring will be here soon , so I wanted to post something uplifting today, If you live in the East Coast ,you know what I mean ? we have not seen the ground since November We had our breakfast club today , all the artists are exited with Spring Exhibit we are having at the end of the month, everyone was coming out of hibernation today and making plans for new paintings spots ,workshops, retreats and get together , it was exiting!

Well I am back home after a wonderful two week retreat , of just painting and exploring the coast of Maine and Canada ,and a superb time with all my art friends that share the retreat experience ,this was our 16 Th year!

The lonely cottage
I have spent the last two days traveling from one gallery to the other , bringing new art work .
both places to be in New Hampshire , I live on the Border , so most of my Art connections are in New Hampshire, my husband came with me for the Sunday ride going to Portsmouth , all the politicians were there!. trying to convince the public who is the best.
On our way home we took the coast road , I always look for new scenes on the coast and the sun was going down when I came upon some beautiful lobster boat in the harbor , I really want to paint them.

Took a field trip to the coast, just to replenished some creative juice. Today being a wonderful day with sunshine , it was perfect ,the calm before the storm ! the weather man does predict some snow this week.

Campobello cottages
