I went only a few miles from my house to find the beautiful colors of fall, I pulled over and painted this scene from my car after I had delivered paintings for an auction in the town of Jaffrey NH. the scenes were endless, I also took a lot of photos, I just love fall!
This was the first time in a long time when I have not blogged everyday,I had a good excuse, my husband and I when to a Military reunion in Hartford Connecticut , we had a wonderful time with old friends and no time to paint ,but I did visit a couple museum in Hartford who where very impressive with wonderful collections. The Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of art was one of them and the Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington , with a collection of Monet, Degas,Cassatt, Manet ,Whistler and more , these paintings have never left the property, they are to stay in the same spot where they have been for the last 100 years, a place to visit if you are in the area
When I was in the fields and about to clean my paint brush yesterday, this big white cloud came up I quickly managed to capture it in a miniature, when clouds come this way you only have minutes to do it ,the scene changes so fast. 
Went out plein air this morning , it was cool in the house but beautiful outside, a perfect September day! I live in a beautiful area ,five minutes from my house and the scenes are endless in the back roads of New England . The colors are starting to peak, the fields have the ends of the summer harvest ,this time is short and I must capture the moment .
My bag series is near the end, yesterday and today ,I took a ride in the area to see how the foliage is coming along and I saw some beautiful landscape, it is calling me to do some plein air scenes so I will start painting some of them ,I try to paint with the season .

Where did the week go , it went like a flash! the weather has cooled off, this morning I had to put gloves on when I was walking the dogs .The fall is here in New England ! I just had to paint these pretty bags of Kate something! My daughter in law is really in to all the bags so does my Grand daugther ,and I am lucky to get one from them on special occasions.

Having fun working on these bags, a little distraction from my other work, bags are really in these days , name brand that is! the poeple who has one of these will know the names? they are very soft leather, I bought one for my grand daughter and she loves it .
Beautiful September day today! just love this type of weather ,after seeing my art friends for coffee this morning, I came home to do a little yard work ,the only thing I am a bit scared now after contacting Lyme last month , I keep thinking I have a tick on me , I still have to worry about it until frost.
I had a nice day today with my friend Sue and her Mom, we went to the hills of New Hampshire to deliver a painting for the pastel show in Newport, It was my friends painting , I should of got one in myself , but missed the dateline, it happens often ,you get the application for a show, you think you have all this time and next thing you know you have missed it.
Every woman loves a pocket book , never seems to have too many ! some are real some are not !
I was painting kitchen walls in the morning , a project that needs to be finished since March .In the afternoon I decided to paint my daily of a flower arrangement I received from my daughter yesterday for my birthday. 
They are announcing frost tonight in some part of New England , time to cut some of the flowers in the garden , always nice to enjoyed them in the house for a bit longer .
This painting was painted at the Tide Mill farm this summer, I had bought the flowers for a rainy day so we would have a still life arrangement to work from. Well Gladiolas are not an easy flower to do in acrylic , I more or less simplified the blossoms. I worked on a watercolor one last week and did like it much better, different medium ,different look!
Hanna came by during the night and dumped a lot of rain ,but a beautiful day today!
The end of summer has come for lots of families ,who have rented cottages by the sea as this one on the coast of Maine , just a memory now ! that is why I paint these lovely scenes so they can be treasured all year long .I do accept commissions of your favorite summer spot. Just Email me
I am working on a large commission right now, this is a painting I did last year at the Fells Garden in NH, a pastel done on location , I would love to find a home for this lovely painting .
I think summer has finely arrived in September, a bit late but beautiful! this is another version of the wildflowers I pick every summer,this is a watercolor 8x10 matted to a 11x14 .
Back home, Summer is almost over ! School for lots of kids tomorrow, and I must reorganized all the work I did this summer, I am looking at a busy week .
I took the week end off from blogging, went to Maine to relax , but did managed to paint these beautiful flowers. The weather was great, went for some kayak rides ,got together with friends,it was a very nice week end .
