Zinnias

Oil 6x6 on canvas $100.00
My challenge today. I was working on a commission today and was getting anxious to do something else , I had bought these fresh flowers at our local Farmers market and I just wanted to paint them before they would wilt on me, so I pushed the commission aside and just did an impromptu still life , but became very frustrated as it was just not coming out as I wanted . It was one of those days !
Anyway I did managed to paint a small oil painting. something so simple sometimes can really set you back .Maybe it was the Sunday blues.
The next two weeks ,I will have family from France visiting , I am not sure if I will be able to post everyday.

Garden Sculptures at the Fells garden
This is a painting I painted in July at an Art week end at the Fells garden in NH , these were beautiful sculptures by a very talented artist Lawrence j. Nowlan, They almost looked like real children. It was a bit of a challenge because you really wanted them to look like sculptures in a painting. It was a wonderful week end to paint in this garden as I mentioned back in July.
I am now working on a commission of a house with lots of landscape , so it is taking a bit more time than I want , I have a few still life set up ready to do , and now I am getting relatives visiting from France for two weeks , so I definitely will be challenged with my time.

The famous Olson house
Voila #3 and for the ones who are not familiar with this house , Andrew Wyeth made it famous painting Christina's world and many other paintings were created there , it's now part of the Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland , Maine . A must visit if you love the Wyeth family and all their accomplishments in the American Arts.
This is also an ACEO 2.5x3.5 I had fun doing these three little gems , sometime it's a good way to do something so small and to see if you would like to do a bigger version .

Back view of the Olson house
Took a little artistic licence on this view and moved the water closer , I am thinking of doing a larger view of this one when I am finished with my commissions , I have so much work planed in my head , I don't know where I will find the time for all the paintings I want to create .
If you ever go to the Rockland area , this is a wonderful place to visit in the town of Cushing .
And you know who painted there? Cooper knows..

Gilman pond
What a beautiful week end, the weather has been great! enjoying walks with Clancy, taking photos of wildlife , a deer this morning , the loons that comes and visit . we have come here for 25 years and we have been so lucky to have a set of loons at all times ,I sometimes wondered how old they are? I know they always come back to the same pond, they have had chicks about every other year if the water level stays stable ,a hard thing to control as we never know what nature has in store for us. Loons are not able to walk on the ground, so it is must that a water level be very regulated for the eggs not to wash out of their nest on marches or weeds along the shore. they are fascinating birds and we do love them and watch out for them. If you have never listened for the sound of a loon , you are missing out a wonderful experience.
I captured this late scene of the pond that lasted about ten minutes before the sun went out the mountain turned gold for a moment. I sat on a rock and painted this scene in acrylic on watercolor paper.
