Fresh strawberries
Went to an interesting meeting this morning with the Pastel Society of NH , met lots of new talented artist . Had lunch with my friend Sue at an Irish pub, came home to finish my daily painting. I don't know how I was able, because my dog just about drove me crazy, with the nice weather and everyone walking by, he wanted to go out on the deck every five minutes, up down loose my brushes, phone ringing etc...he is a nice dog but a bit spoiled, only 18 months old . I wanted to take the photo outside before dark ,because I don't like to use the flash. Anyway here are the results ,and a glass of wine! enjoy

Old Quoddy Head Coast Guard Station
The good weather is here, and I hope to stay!
Worked on many different painting project today, I had layout the ground work last night on the painting I am posting today, I took a picture last year of this old Coast Guard Station up in Quoddy. it happen that my brother in law was stationed there in the 60's. Again I just love that red roof and it kind of remind it me of a Hopper style , I find myself painting a lot of his very familiar subject, but then again, he loved the State of Maine .
This is a 6x6 oil painting $ 100.00, perfect gift for someone who has lived there at one time in his life . Email me nlcasey@charter.net

Red house in New Ipswich
Took the day off from painting, and went to the Worcester Art Museum , all by myself , normally I always go with a friend but today I wanted to enjoy and take my time in front of these beautiful paintings and only dream to paint like them, they was a painting by James Abbot McNeil Whistler of the lady with a fur jacket , arrangement in Black and brown , I feel in love with that one, I had never seen that particular one , it was very large , I always wondered how did they moved them around in the old days ? Horse and carriage I guess! no SUV. Actually I have been fortunate to have exhibited a couple times in the house where he was born , at the Whistler art Museum here in Lowell,MA
