It was such a beautiful today in Massachusetts after a long winter, it was also Patriots day and Marathon day in Boston. But my friends and I headed to the woods to do some Plein air painting ,this little spot couple towns over was the perfect spot for it with the sound of the water rushing through was totally relaxing for a few hours. this is available , email me if you are interested .

Cottages comes in all shapes, some nicer then other, but I always see the beauty of a structure and  think of the lives who have lived there. Sometimes I go back to that same place and it is gone ,they have replaced it with big house,and feel sad ! This scene  of a cottage and Spanish Moss was in a small town called Bluffton SC, I couldn't find that little cottage again !

Well today my world in New England looked liked this all day! an April fools day snow storm ! I actually painted this last fall ,but surely appropriate for today ! we had open studios at my Mill and I was not able to get out of my driveway ,snowed most of the day. You know you are in New England when you can still find a little Country store in operation, this one is in the next town of where I live and very popular with this little town. I always  have been intrigued by it being in a corner  of two roads, It has a lot of history, it was used for a movie some 20 years ago. For a longtime I said to myself, I am going to paint it! Well I did and it sold right away.Collectors love to have a connection with some of the paintings, and this one remembered going there as a small child!

A very enjoyable commission of two beautiful dogs ,I didn't have the best photos to work with,but knew they often sat together. The parents liked it! So that was the best part. When I do pets ,I like to do them in pastel.

I just spent a couple days with my very good friends walking the narrow streets of the beautiful historic city of Portsmouth .  This Winter I have been in the mode of painting small winter scenes around town , I have painted the bridge a couple times before , but it was rebuilt since I did the last time.
 I was at one time very much involved with the beautification of the bridge, many in New England have  been neglected but few years ago this one was rebuilt with bran new timbers to meet the new code.  Very fortunate to live in this quint town in New England where my subjects are endless.
