After three days of rest at the farm, witch I really needed before posting something I was happy with , spending the day in Lubec it's always a treat , to see the town come back really alive after so many years, shops, and galleries , new houses refurbished , just a quint town !
We are also looking for a new house for next year, we are loosing our beautiful farm , the owners need it for the organic business , 17 years using this place as our summer retreat will be hard on all of us .

Arrived yesterday under a beautiful sun, it took all day to drive here taking the coast road,stopping a few times along the way ,the best was to stop in Rockland and visit the Farnsworth museum, our yearly stop to see the show , always a treat to see new Andrew Wyeth paintings .
just went in town today to see what changed from last year,and just painted this mini as a warm up.

Just another miniature, when I am in Maine ,this is what I see from my kayak , lots of big rocks on the shore and sometimes, just a little sun picking between threes , it is my favorite place to be when we are at the cabin , but next week ,I will be by the seashore on the rocky coast of Maine, these small miniatures I turn into beautiful cards , with a certificate of authenticity , they are one of a kind , and can be framed , an excellent way to start a collection of originals .email me if you are interested , $25.00

Anther painting of the Lubec area ,that will be on display at the show , I am slowly packing things to take up there , it's only two weeks , but you would think ,I am going for six months , I bring way too much art material ,but can't help myself, still life prop for rainy days , food as we are 8 starving artists at night , we share the cooking and always eat way too much. we do have fun! can't wait ..

I am on a miniature mode for lack of time , today I received a new set of watercolor for traveling , a Yarka set, Russian made watercolors , so I wanted to try them right away , some new colors in it , I found them nice for my plein air paintings strong vibrant colors , I am on my third set in 10 years , in the studio I use Winsor and Newton with a large palette . I just love art supply I could have everything they make ! these small miniatures will probably end up in cards , they make excellent gifts, and can be framed also .

Another miniature! that is all the time I have this week , while working on some other projects.
sometimes doing a small one like this gives me an idea if it will work on a bigger format. I am also getting ready for next week going on my two week stay in Lubec, something I do every year .I just hope the weather clears up in New England for the month of August , it has rained for the last two months .These miniature come with a certificate and a beautiful card .

I was just cleaning a box of acrylic paint to see what was still good or not ,before my painting trip to the coast of Maine in a week, decided to check some colors and next thing you know , I had a cute miniature , of course I had been trying to paint all day ,it was raining and dreary all day and the dogs did not want to leave me alone , wanted to go out wanted treats.... .so my day was not very productive.

I was in the city a short time , but love the outdoor cafe , just like home in Paris!
I have been at the cabin the last few days ,painting with no interruptions from the gallery, except for the dogs who want to go for walks a bit more than usual , they love to go in the woods or on the edge of the pond. Tomorrow I will go back home , work awaits me there , some commissions are do . We have enjoyed this past week here , the weather could of been warmer, but i am not complaining as i do not take the heat very well .

I was in Portsmouth, NH last Friday, in the late afternoon with my daughter and her family , we went to see a play at Prescott park, {Grease}it was fun ! before the play we had some time to spare so we walked the street of Portsmouth, such a nice old Colonial town, the old barbershop and the late afternoon sun made me take a photo of this quint scene of the past. I used to paint only in watercolor years ago , until the galleries decided not to represent most
watercolorists witch made me switch to oil and pastel, I must say I love all mediums as long as I am painting ,I am happy!
