I have a hard time passing these old Parlor windows , they seem to have so much history , my house has one and I love it , sometimes I have to watch where I am driving ,because I will stop in a flash just to catch a window ,thinking it will make a nice painting, this was one of them !
This painting might bring memories of a grandma's house where they was a window just like this one . email me if you are interested .

From the parlor window
I have painted this window a few times , I just love the look of these old windows , I have one in my house. I found this one in my travel to Eastport Maine , it was a house that needed a bit of love , many houses in the area need someone to bring them back to life , and many Baby Boomers are retiring and doing just that.
Edward Hopper liked these old windows also.
16x20 oil on canvas,

Lubec,Bay Window
The architecture of this old Down East town is wonderful for my obsession with the history of it,a nice sunny day to paint on location, my friends and I are spread out at different locations ,some like to paint rocks ,some lighthouses and of course many of the farm life where we are staying, a wonderful working farm with cows, chickens pigs and lots of wildlife ,
this was my find yesterday,a beautiful parlor window.

Parlor window
I did get a chance to finish this pastel, I didn't think I would because I was having a new kitchen window put in , due to the rain they went home , that give me time to finish it and stay away from the garden also , always so much to do, I keep saying that I will not plant one more thing ,but seems to manage to find some new plants.
so here it is , The Parlor window. 11x14 on board ready to be framed email me if interested
