Yesterday ,I had a great day visiting my friend down the Cape , an artist herself, we have been friends for over 25 years , so when we get together we do a lot of galleries visiting and Cape Cod is a great place for that ,it was a bit like Spring there, it was an enjoyable visit .
Today I worked on another painting of Ireland , I still have the Irish fever !
this scene is from a small town in the South west on the ring of Kerry , the town has many relatives there , they even a have a huge statue on the town square of one of my husband's cousins ,crusher Casey a famous wrestler. the white house is an Inn the Stone House .
maybe someone has visited the small village and this painting would make a great memory ,

The week end ,again with snow , a bit tired of the same forecast. If you are interested in this painting email me nlcasey@charter.net

This is the cottage where some of the cousins used to live , in a small town on the ring of Kerry, when my son was younger, like 30 years ago , we would spend our vacations there and he used to say , I love it here because everybody knows us ! when the relatives used to come from America it was a big deal , I think all of that has changed , but it sure was fun to step back in time, and I am glad all my children and grand children have experienced both side of their roots , Ireland and France. My younger son used to say he was Farish,he made it up .
I always take commission work , if you have a photo of a house that means lots of memories to you , contact me ,nlcasey@charter.net

I am in a mood to paint Ireland , because I really wish I was there now or at least for St Patrick's day, a few years back we had gone for St Patrick in Limerick in the morning and Dublin at night, It was a lot of fun ! We love the ring of Kerry, and this is a beach in the village were my husband relatives come from . I also painted in oil today , it has been a while since I used them , I love all different medium to work with , it's a curse I think ! I wish I would be satisfied to work only with one , but this is who I am !

I was making Irish bread today , and started thinking about Ireland , a place that I love , my husband's family comes from Co. Kerry, where we have spend many summers , but it has been a few years since we have gone , I want to go so bad right now just to paint the beautiful scenery and enjoy an evening at the local pub , but I must wait ,my husband has a few health issues to deal with before going there .I pulled out one of my favorite scene from the Ring of Kerry ,I painted on location on my last trip there , the view was from our room .

Another week gone , honestly don't know where the time went! I just came back from an art opening in Jaffrey NH , a nice group of artists were there , some I have been friends with for over twenty years , it was a member's show in the upstairs gallery , I have a mini show downstairs . The town of Jaffrey is about forty five minutes from my house , in the foothills of the New Hampshire mountains .
This watercolor is from my last trip into Portsmouth , when you find an interesting subject like this , it's fun to find the right store front, this one was perfect with the display of the coat outside.

Today I had plan to drive to the Portland ballet to sketch the ballerinas with the pastel painters of Maine, it was canceled due to our lovely weather. It was a let down, I couldn't get myself to paint , so I decided to visit a couple friends with a surprised visit that was way over do , you would say I took the day off ! sometime we need it . Today's post is an older piece that I always liked , painted at the summer farm in Maine with the bay in the background , it would look great in a kitchen decor, what better way to collect all original work.

We just had a few nice sunny days ,to give us hope that Spring will come soon , but no such luck, winter is coming back tomorrow and the day after. On Sunday I took photos of different store fronts , this particular one was one of my favorite , love the color ,very antique look and the light was great , I didn't like the display, so with my artistic license I changed things a bit . If this store front could talk , it had plenty stories of different business , being close to the old port in Portsmouth ,one of the oldest community in the East coast. I had fun painting this little gem .

This is our monthly challenge painting , the month of February to reflect Valentine , a season to show your love for that special someone . In the summer my friends and I, we paint at this old farm house in Maine , we have been going there for fifteen years , it's a beautiful circa 1880 house ,with lots of antiques , a few years ago we set up this still life and all of us painted it , it was a lot of fun! because we all have our own style and medium they all came out very different , the flowers were fresh from the garden outside , I truly enjoy that process of sitting up a nice still life, artists who does not do that are missing out.
this painting is available , email me if you are interested 11x14 matted to a 16x20

I went to my studio with mixed filling of what to paint , but when the bread came out of the oven , I knew , and after it was done , the magical of a digital camera is formidable , a few years ago I wouldn't not been able to put the painting on for days , it's like right out of the oven and computer. the secret recipe will be given to who buys this painting .
