From my French series . a 5x7 watercolor of a typical French farm in the region of Sologne.
I am painting , but mostly walls right now, a bit frustrated to be away from my easel , but I have waited years to remodel this kitchen .
A snow day today! just about all day ,it was the kind of day you wanted to stay by the fire ,but I had to finish a commission and touch up this painting I did a couple days ago. It's actually a still life that I have done in a large watercolor , but this time I did it in oil , I did enjoy painting this small one and hope someone will buy it and enjoy it for there kitchen or dining room .
The demolition of the kitchen has started , what a job! But I am still painting in between the project. but might miss some days of posting.
My kitchen project is taking some of my time, more than I want and lots of descisions to make
I had plan to work on a commission today , but the day just went by like a flash , we went to dinner at a relatives house and in the way home ,I noticed the moon was shinning so bright, I walked in my studio and looked across the street and there it was, so this miniature was looking out of my window , we still have a lot of snow on the ground as you see.
Historical neighborhood of Portsmouth, NH ,a wonderful place to visit and see how the settlers lived, who came to America in the 1700. A new generation of today is very proud to fly the flag and keep the historical memories alive.
Waiting for more snow tonight, to give you an idea most yards look like this in my neighboring town of Brookline NH , snow everywhere ,this is a sketch done from the car ,that is the beauty of watercolor easy to do from anywhere , all you need is a little water , the shadows are great ,most days .
In the next few weeks i will be taking my kitchen apart for some remodeling , I am not sure how I will keep up with my daily painting but i will definitely try , my easel and paint is always set, I will challenge myself.
A foot of snow fell today in my area , just beautiful outside . I had decided to finish some work in progress , this was a white china challenge The New Hampshire pastel society had the month of December .It has been on my easel since the beginning of December and never had the time to work on it between commissions , holidays and daily paintings , art shows and lets not forget cleaning cooking take care of husband, visiting grand children and all my animals ,not much time left!so I do welcome a snow day sometimes .
Spending the day with a group of wonderful artists from the Pastel Painters of Maine and the Pastel painters of New Hampshire , we all gathered in Nashua at a members house and had a challenge with the color turquoise blue , the still life was well arranged for all of us to do. Thank you Carolyn for your graciousness, our lunch was wonderful!
In a rainy day like today, I wanted to paint something different for me , I always see this window next to the Portsmouth Art Association when I go deliver paintings ,and always have been intrigued by it ,so last Sunday ,I took a photo of it . I changed many things on it , they still had Christmas decorations inside and out , but this is the beauty of being an Artist , we do take the Artist licence to change things.
My schedule is slowly getting back to normal, today was our breakfast club meeting at Borders in Nashua NH. We are a bunch of artists who meet every week , we have been doing this for about 18 years . It's great to have a support group like this ,we share a lot of information on shows art supply , art societies , museum ,critiques and anything connected to art.
I was on the coast road yesterday in Seabrook, NH when I came across these fishing boats , I just loved the colors of the boats and this winter day by the ocean , so this became my daily today, painted between a commission I am working on ,so it was a full day of work!
I have spent the last two days traveling from one gallery to the other , bringing new art work .
Pastel painting done on location last Spring of a typical New England farmhouse. I loved the purple flowers and the nice light on this scene .
I have been working a commission all day, it was a good thing because the temperature was very cold , but I see Florida is also in a deep freeze .
Too cold to walk today , 0 degree and Clancy is not too happy, he is looking out the window, the sun is coming up and this is what I see out of my window. I actually did this a few days ago before my grand children got up , otherwise they would of been all over my pastels.
I had a nice quiet day at home , all kids and grand kids went back home , now it's going to be serious work again!
