The Pink Victorian House

6x6 oil on Copper (c) 2011

Nita Leger Casey
On my travel ,I always look for unusual homes, this one was one of them, it was on our drive to Lubec on route 1 , when all my friends said , did you see that purple house ? for some reason I had missed it, but I didn't on the way home , it made me stop right on my tracks . I took a few photos, So this is what I painted today , I think an artist must lives in this one .

The red house on the hill
miniature oil on copper 3x5

I had a busy week end , one of my friend Paula Mingolelli had an opening at the loading dock gallery on Friday night a beautiful show a must see if you are in the area , than open house studio all day yesterday at Western Avenue , to our surprised many people came by even during a rainy and icy day , they all had cabin fever I suppose! Today I took a break and did not do much .
This is the last of the paintings I painted at snow camp , just a little one of the house next to the Sunset Inn , last year I did a larger painting of it .
the painting is available just email me for more details nlcasey@charter.net

"Snow fields two"
Mini 3x5 oil on copper
Nita Leger Casey
Last year when I went to Snow camp ,I met Renee Lammers who was painting on copper , me who always wants to try new things , like I don't do enough! must be a disease artists have . While in Maine this past summer I painted a few seascape and liked very much , it has a different feel to it and great for miniatures ,I wouldn't recommend this for larger work . painting with Renee again this past week end where we braced the cold together in these beautiful snow fields and exchanged ideas when we would go warm up by the fire, it was a treat .
Well today I went to clean my studio at the mill as we have open studios this Saturday ,but the weather forecast doesn't look so good more snow for Saturday , when I drove in to Lowell today the roads were very narrow , not much room left for the snow , the banks look like mountains .
Western Avenue open studios in Lowell , this Saturday noon to 5PM
this painting is available , email me nlcasey@charter.net .
