Our local schools are still closed after the storm, still no power many places ,and we are waiting for another storm tomorrow ice and snow, a repeat!
Worked on Karin Juricks fun weekly challenge , a bit of a change ,I have tons of ideas for future paintings but I will wait until the holidays are over ,the family is coming from South Carolina and Maryland ,the studio get taking over at that time .

Here in Massachusetts ,we are still cleaning after the ice storm , a lot of people are with no power still ! and another storm coming , I just hope they are all done by Christmas , our kids are driving from far away , I will be anxious until then .

Old New England farmhouse

We have got the worst ice storm the day before yesterday , all New England looks like a war zone , trees all over and thousands of people with no power , That night we could hear the trees falling all around us , we were the lucky ones, some of our neighbors had a lot of damage, a part of nature you can't predict. We are safe and all our relatives in the area.

We are now experiencing an ice storm , looks like I won't be walking in the morning , the one thing I fear is falling , Clancy is not crazy about the rain so I don't think he will be upset about not walking.
I finely finished all my commission work , hope the people who will received their house portrait under the tree will be happy .
Now I must write my Christmas cards .

This is a painting that was done after a coastal winter storm , it's something you don't see often, snow on a beach . Every once in awhile I love to take a drive to Plum Island , a small island off the coast of Massachusetts .

Cold here! 10 degrees , My friend was waiting for me at 6.15 AM to go walking with the dogs , I was hesitant with this cold temperature , but managed to walk for 45 minutes , felt good after.
Later I drove 100 miles to Kennebunkport in Maine to pick up my paintings from the Maine pastel show .The village was lovely all decorated , such a beautiful sea coast town !
This scene was done from memory from one of my drive coming back from somewhere , a beautiful sunset shinning trough the trees .

This is a funny position he has when he looks out the window at my son's house , a collector of mine loves when I paint a painting of Clancy , this is for him .
We are now waiting for some snow , my chores today was to winterized my chickens completely
I have one hen who is 7 years old , not sure how she will make another winter , that is old for a hen, they now have hay and a light in their coop, so they should be OK.

Thanksgiving week end was spent in Maine at our cabin , snow had already come to the woods of Maine, my favorite path was covered with fresh snow, the same place where I painted the birch trees on location in the fall , this time I took a photo and worked from that scene. When the sun comes on fresh snow , it's just about magical , I do love living in New England just for that reason, every season has such of beauty , it's a wonderful place for an artists.

well today I decorated the outside of my house with lots of fresh pine greenery from my back yard , all natural and free, put the candles in the windows , that was a good beginning of the annual chore of decorating for the holidays, living on Main Street and an Historical house , I must do that ,but it is a lot of work .
My costumers picked up the house portrait and love it , they will make their parents very happy , it is a perfect gift!
This painting is of a street in Kingfield ,Maine , near Sugarloaf USA , a famous sky resort in Maine .

When you are gone for four days , the work piles up , so today I did a lot of catching up.
and I am still working on a house portrait . I also came back with tons of beautiful scenes I experienced this week end in Maine with the snow and the houses all decorated , very inspiring and I am dying to work on that , of course the days goes so fast!I need to finish some things first.

Winter is coming upon us fast, so I decided to start painting some winter scenes , I love old houses so when I have a chance to see one with some character, I always take pictures , this one is in deep Maryland Washington county , I have a son who lives in the area and I get to explore the back roads of Maryland at times.

The cold has arrived here in New England , a bit early , feels like January right now. I had to winterized the chicken coop , so my guys won't freeze.
