Lowell's Acres
watercolor 6x8 (c) 2011
Nita Leger Casey
I had a full day today , walked almost an hour this morning at 6 AM watched the sunrise in Pepperell walking with my friend Pam and Clancy of course , a bit cold at 7 degree , I later went to Yoga for an hour and a half ,I am really liking it! I think it is good for my back problem and very relaxing Then I drove to the Lowell Western avenue Studios had lunch with my friends before going to my own studio and painted most of the afternoon , this was my pick for the day another view of Lowell from the stairwell going to the fourth floor . The Whistler Museum is having a show about Lowell soon , I must think about this , so many interesting scenes to do .

A tiny snow scene
oil on copper 2,5x3,5,(C)2010
Nita Leger Casey
Yesterday I went to the studios , had lunch with some friends and went up to my own studio to clean up a little , my mind was not on creating much , but forced myself thinking I did not come all this way for nothing so I picked up my brush and worked on a miniature , this time on copper, a typical scene I see just about everywhere around here after a snow storm .
Then today I met all my Friends at the artists Breakfast Club and we talked about shows and workshops and it seems like life is getting back to normal , Holidays and sickness can really take you of course . So happy to have a great group of friends !
This mini is for sale ,painted on copper is very special . email me nlcasey@charter.net

Abandoned (c)2010, miniature oil on board
Nita Leger Casey
This poor house was abandoned in a beautiful landscape on the edge of a stream on Owl's Head ,sad but true, many old houses are left this way in Maine , I always feel bad when I see that ,we had just visited this small Peninsula just before Christmas. As you see I love to take a ride to visit many part of these beautiful States we call New England .
Today I visited an Artist Dennis Poirier at his studio in Maine , beautiful work who portraits New England at it's best, Check him out!
Anyone want to start a collection of small works, email me nlcasey@charter.net

Thinking of using this painting as my Christmas card.
Today we had a wonderful thanksgiving dinner with the family , ate too much as usual !
telling myself I am not going to do this again ,the turkey comes out with all the trimmings and special sides , at that moment you have amnesia ,everything tasted so good , after that, you are just about in the coma ,that is what happen to all of us today! but was a great day .

" The path in winter"
6x8 pastel on Wallis paper
copyrighted 2008

Thanksgiving week end was spent in Maine at our cabin , snow had already come to the woods of Maine, my favorite path was covered with fresh snow, the same place where I painted the birch trees on location in the fall , this time I took a photo and worked from that scene. When the sun comes on fresh snow , it's just about magical , I do love living in New England just for that reason, every season has such of beauty , it's a wonderful place for an artists.
this would make a wonderful present for someone or just for yourself , Become a collector!
$ 100.00 + $ 8.00 shipping , nlcasey@charter.net
