Who wouldn't want to live in a rose cottage by the sea? just imagine the ocean air when you step out of the front door , listen to the wave crashing , the seals at a distance, the sail boats going by, the far away ships going on a voyage , the fisherman going for the catch of the day, just imagine you could buy this painting and dream about it,just Email me if you are interested .nlcasey@charter.net
Last night I was going to post and looked at the Post # and it was 500, so I decided to wait a day and paint something special for the day . I woke up to a beautiful clear and sunny day when it came to me to paint my house and my studio , so after breakfast I set up the easel on the front lawn and got going with the morning light . I can't believe that I have posted 500 paintings!
This is Quoddy head state park in Maine where I go painting every year , I will be there next week for a couple weeks and I can't wait, the weather here in Massachusetts is getting to me, hot and humid ,storms every day, all this it's taking all my energy , I do much better by the ocean .
I did not have a chance to blog yesterday ,but I had a wonderful day visiting a Friend in Ogunquit , a beautiful village on the coast of Maine with lots of galleries , gift shop, and restaurants. Today it was the most depressing day , it rained all day nonstop, so I did some catching up in the studio.
For today just an example of a commission building for an Alumni of the University, If you have a school, church, building, house, camp that means a lot to you, and would like a painting of it ,I welcome commissions ,
I worked on the computer must of the day today, working on a writing projects for a book on the History of the pond in Maine , taking a little bit of my painting time, but then again this hot and humid weather has me feeling with low energy, every body is complaining so I am not the only one feeling this way.
I will be going to the Tide Mill farm to paint again, my yearly trip to this wonderful place in Northern Maine, this was painted early in the morning on location.
The hot and humid weather is here today, it is so oppressive, it robed me of all energy today.

Back home and tired from the long drive home , here is a painting done from the Kayak yesterday,
All good things comes to an end , going home tomorrow after a wonderful week at the pond, today my friend and I in our kayaks went to check on the loon nest to see if the baby was born , we have been waiting and counting the days , we have a set of loons on the pond that is well protected by all of us here, we worry about them like our kids . The scene fresh on my mind was painted as soon as i got back .
Still playing with rocks,I really needed a rest and this week has been great for relaxation. Yesterday a neighbors gave us a wonderful pontoon boat ride down river ,the landscape and wildlife was wonderful! we ended the night all the girls sitting by the Campfire by the pond telling jocks .Wonderful group of people summer on this pond!
As you see ,I am still playing with rocks, my Cairns are fun to paint, as much as to hunt for the rocks to build them. the weather was great today ,plenty of walks with Clancy also, and fun talks with friends by the camp fire.
Well,don't expect serious work from me this week as I am playing by the pond with rocks as you see! over the years I have picked rocks around the property and made sculptures all over ,they look like little people,when my friends come by they add to the collection .
This painting will tell you where I am for a few days of relaxations! I am having some phone line problem, due to some lightning , so I am not able to upload very often .
This is Victoria in her younger days . Today I adopted two more chickens from an elderly man who was going into a nursing home ,my daughter in law adopted a couple also , they are two Rhode Island red , they are not with the other ones yet , I am waiting for dark to put them in, hopefully the other ones will accept them , they will have to go trough the rules of the old ones , the rooster George will be happy !
Getting ready for the 4th of July, lots of cleaning and weeding the flower beds before the parade will go by! always a nice day here with front row seat living on Main street, just hoping the weather will cooperate , so far we have had storms everyday this week .
