Life is Good in a Spring day on Newburry Street in Boston, this painting is part of a series of watercolors where I have captured the Brown Stones and it's lovely boutiques . I have not posted for a couple weeks ,sometimes life  just gets in the way, like cleaning and other project that takes me out of my studio. I wish the warm weather would stay more than a day at a time , I  so want to go plein air painting soon!

To all my followers , I have not disappeared from the planet, just needed a break from daily painting , life gets in the way sometimes ,like the yard the house etc... also working on some commissions , cleaning for my French relatives who are coming for a month . From my last trip to Boston , where I found that beautiful window scene , from my last post . I was away for a few days , we went up to open the cabin , the weather was perfect in Maine , did mostly cleaning and not much time to paint, but I think I needed a break ! The trees are all in bloom and I love it !

I went to Newburry street Last Monday ,when I came upon the wonderful display in a boutique window , I couldn't resist thinking it would make a perfect painting for the day the Princess is getting married ,I must say this Boutique had picked a beautiful dress for their May bride . Tomorrow morning I will wake up at 4 AM to see the wedding ,I am sure I will not be the only one , over the years I have watch them all , when it was princess Diana we were living in Germany at the time . I imagine Princess Kate will be beautiful !

I told you yesterday that two weeks ago I took a ride on the Swan Boats , I was amazed how reasonable it was $ 2.75 for adults and $ 1.50 for kids , that is one very nice thing to do if you visit The Boston Garden , and you won't break the bank ! a young couple on the boat were laughing how they had gone to college here , and never did this , I guess it's a joke between students to go on them , they grew up I guess! As for me I just never took the time , we lived overseas for a long time when our kids were small ! then we moved on the border of New Hampshire, the Simple pleasure is sometimes right in front of you , these boats have so much history ,check it out!
The funny thing of this story , is my Father- in-law's first cousin Margaret married the son of the family who started the boats , my husband told me when he was little he used to go free.
Also the famous book ,Make way for the ducklings was written from the Boston Garden .
So here is bit of History ! of the famous Boston Gardens .

Here is another view of this famous Boston Street, I had lunch there yesterday , after doing some sketching in the park one street over , I am really getting to know the city , something I wanted to do for many years , you know you never know the town you are the closest to ,because we have a way to take things for granted , and always in a hurry , my husband thinks he knows it yes, he was born here ! but it has changed since the 1940's .
Don't forget , collect art ,collect original art, you will never be disappointed , it will make you happy !
