Winter condo

Another small painting with a limited palette ,does work well with a winter scene. I know a lot of people don't like winter, but it sure create beautiful scenery like this frozen pond with a beaver house on it. Today I took a side road just to go by some farms and found about 20 cows sunbathing in the snow, they surely made my day I just love to see them .if you are interested in this painting ,just give me an email nlcasey@charter.net

Winter stream

I just wanted to try a limited palette today with a scene out of my head, well these scenes of small steams with snow are actually everywhere right now, we have been covered with snow for months now, how could you miss them? I really was not in the mood to paint but forced myself to do something, after my daughter lost her beautiful dog today, from a virus and he was only 7years old.
We love these dogs and they break you heart when we loose them, painting was my escape today. Keeping my blog with new work has been a challenge lately, too many things to do, other projects and daily chores getting in the way , hope to be more faithful to it !

Flowers from Valentine

Knowing it was going to snow last Thursday I was prepared with a still life arrangement in my kitchen , I had bought the flowers for that reason ! sure enough it snowed all day and still snowing tonight two days later. It had been a longtime since I worked on a still life painting, I really used to do them all the time when I was painting for greeting cards, I felt a little rusty doing it, my style is so much looser now, I had to stop myself trying to fix it, during the process of painting this I realize I love my studio away from the house, too many distraction at the house. email inquiry

Somewhere in Maine

I just love this little painting and really wish someone would give a small space, on a nice wall in their house for it to find a nice home, specially if you are a regular in Maine, like in the Kennebunkport area ,you might of gone to that shop .I always say most painting will find a collector, sometimes it just takes time, over the week end I sold one I had painted 10 years ago, the lady who bought it was very happy . Saving energy!

When I was a child in France we surely didn't have clothes dryer, actually never heard of them! after visiting my family in recent years , to this day very few people use them. Electricity is very expensive and most people still hang the clothes out, the smell of clean laundry from the fresh air is so much better, funny how clothes dry even in a cold frosty day, you bring the clothes in stiff as a board ,a few minutes in the house they are fine .
Well this is a house I captured in my travels in a small town in NH .
The light was just right and the clothes just said it all, I painted this a while back and would like to find a home for this gem!

This was a recent house portrait for a Realtor of a house in Massachusetts . In the old days I used to do a lot of them , but when the house market went down it seemed to go as well ! This week end I got asked to do another one so maybe it is coming back? I really like when the house has some character or style, it is a nice keepsake for the family!

I am an Artist who has painted most of my life and enjoy every minute of it. My journey in the art world continually evolves keeping up with the time, I paint in many different medium and love them all. My collection of work is primarily in oils and I use watercolors for commissions, illustrations, and pastels for my own pleasure. My love for architecture shows in my work and many have compared my style with Edward Hopper. I feel honored to be compared with such wonderful artist. I paint daily in the studio and plein air when weather permits. I try to paint from life as much as possible. Last year I gave up teaching art after thirty years of private classes and, now enjoy my former student’s accomplishment in the arts. Many collectors around the world own my work and hope many more will in the future.

Handy Hints to Successful Art Buying Online

You can make your online art purchasing experiences a lot of fun, and stress-free, if you just take a few moments to follow some tried-and-tested advice.
These hints will give you the very best chance of finding quality works of art, and receiving the art in perfect condition.

1) If you see a piece of art you like on a favorite artist's Blog, don't be afraid to request a couple more photos of the work. Most artists will happily oblige. You might like to see close-up detail of some section... or perhaps an image to confirm the coloring is consistent.

2) Look for the artist's email address. Apart from a direct email contact, artists often post contact phone numbers. They do this for a reason. They would like you to phone them. So do it! If you'll feel better talking to a 'real person' make the call. But I would always recommend making direct email contact with the artist.It's helpful to have a line of communication from the point when you make your purchase, to the point when the work is dispatched to you. Most artists also would like the opportunity to follow up and ensure the work has arrived safely. Don't simply place your order and make your payment. Take the opportunity to communicate with the artist. It will make the whole process run more smoothly.

3) Consider purchasing more than one piece of art at a time.If you fall in love with the work of a particular artist, consider purchasing a piece and leaving it with the artist. Then, when you see another work by the same artist you wish to purchase, ask for both pieces to be sent together. This will reduce freight costs considerably. Most artists will be happy to hold a paid artwork in storage, especially if they realize it's because you wish to purchase a second piece.

4) Email the artist and ask them if they have any artworks not yet posted on their blog.Some artists don't have the time to post every piece on their blog. Or some pieces are displayed, and then taken down after a time. It doesn't hurt to ask the artist to email images of any works they have in their 'stock room'.... and it can be a way to discover secret treasures.
