Cinnamon tea

Just finished my second week end of open studio, many people came by and did their shopping, now I am tired and ready to have a cup of tea and relax before I attack my week of cleaning before my kids come home for Christmas, also bring a little Christmas to this house, I am a bit late but painting came first !

The crunch is on for shopping and I found myself there today with everyone else trying to fill the list, drove 50 miles to pick up the right thing ,I think I have all six grandchildren covered. I was back home on time to sell a few paintings at the gallery, there is still time to stop by my gallery in Pepperell or give me a call if you want a painting for someone special .
This watercolor still life is very festive , could be part of someone decor for years to come,
and it's an original ! never too late to start a collection . email me and ask!

These flowers are actually the same one as my last posting , they were in a different vase and painted at the same time at the farm , I have used this chair in many of my still life paintings over the years, also like to use lace ,and natural sunlight from a window , I did two of this exact painting , one was very loose no drawing just paint with a loaded brush , as this one is more details and dry brush , I enjoy both style of work , and would like to find a home for these beautiful originals .email me for more details

My wonderful daughter-in-law made a wonderful supper for both mothers and family .

Designing greeting cards is also something I do , this was a original watercolor that was submitted last year to the company I free lance with , but not chosen , I work from life and set up these still life arrangements when flowers are in bloom .
I can wait for the spring flowers to come , today I did a bit of racking to clean my flower garden and I could see some picking out .

Today I met with my usual art friends for breakfast , always nice to see them and discuss art related things, what show is coming up ?what outdoor show is next? when are we getting together and paint? did you see this on the Internet ? just a few things we talk about during our weekly meeting, some of us have done this for the last 20 years.

This is one of my Spring bloom flower from my last painting , but I focused on one flower in watercolor with a more details approached , this is the flower that was next to the bird on the last painting .

Artist statement

I am an Artist who has painted most of my life and enjoy every minute of it. My journey in the art world continually evolves keeping up with the time, I paint in many different medium and love them all. My collection of work is primarily in oils and I use watercolors for commissions, illustrations, and pastels for my own pleasure. My love for architecture shows in my work and many have compared my style with Edward Hopper. I feel honored to be compared with such wonderful artist. I paint daily in the studio and plein air when weather permits. I try to paint from life as much as possible. Last year I gave up teaching art after thirty years of private classes and, now enjoy my former student’s accomplishment in the arts. Many collectors around the world own my work and hope many more will in the future.

The best is yet to come – enjoy my journey!

Handy Hints to Successful Art Buying Online

You can make your online art purchasing experiences a lot of fun, and stress-free, if you just take a few moments to follow some tried-and-tested advice.
These hints will give you the very best chance of finding quality works of art, and receiving the art in perfect condition.

1) If you see a piece of art you like on a favorite artist's Blog, don't be afraid to request a couple more photos of the work. Most artists will happily oblige. You might like to see close-up detail of some section... or perhaps an image to confirm the coloring is consistent.

2) Look for the artist's email address. Apart from a direct email contact, artists often post contact phone numbers. They do this for a reason. They would like you to phone them. So do it! If you'll feel better talking to a 'real person' make the call. But I would always recommend making direct email contact with the artist.It's helpful to have a line of communication from the point when you make your purchase, to the point when the work is dispatched to you. Most artists also would like the opportunity to follow up and ensure the work has arrived safely. Don't simply place your order and make your payment. Take the opportunity to communicate with the artist. It will make the whole process run more smoothly.

3) Consider purchasing more than one piece of art at a time.If you fall in love with the work of a particular artist, consider purchasing a piece and leaving it with the artist. Then, when you see another work by the same artist you wish to purchase, ask for both pieces to be sent together. This will reduce freight costs considerably. Most artists will be happy to hold a paid artwork in storage, especially if they realize it's because you wish to purchase a second piece.

4) Email the artist and ask them if they have any artworks not yet posted on their blog.Some artists don't have the time to post every piece on their blog. Or some pieces are displayed, and then taken down after a time. It doesn't hurt to ask the artist to email images of any works they have in their 'stock room'.... and it can be a way to discover secret treasures.
