Now that Christmas is over, I am posting a few homes I had to do in December. This one was a beautiful home with a late fall landscape and nice late sun light, I had fun doing it, the owner has been in the house for thirty years, so if she ever decides to move she always will have her memories of her beautiful home, The owner was happy when she picked it up ! It was time for me to relax!

Winter Moon

I was looking through some older paintings and this one just hit me, because I had just gone outside with the dog and just saw the moon , except we have no snow, 9:30 at night, it's 51 degrees,and this is New England ! A little Wintah

I was just thinking about Wintah like they say in New England, well it has not arrived yet! I am not complaining, I am sure it will come, today was a raw rainy day, sometimes a snow storm feels warmer. So I was sitting at my drawing table just thinking about sketching a quick little snow scene, when I was teaching kids ,this one was one of their favorite to do.

Mini Blue bird

Last winter during a snow storm ,a flock of blue birds came on my porch to get some winter berries I had in a big bucket , they actually have done this every year ,they only come for a few days and I never see them again . A few days ago I went in the yard to get some of the berries so I will be ready for their visit when we do get winter, I know it will come !
I have many other birds that comes everyday, I just love them!

My studio is in one of the old Mills in Lowell called Western Avenue Studios, The railroad tracks goes right by the Mill and trains often stops right there for a period of time. So I had the opportunity to paint a few of them. The Mill

Lowell has Mills throughout the entire city, this one happens to be where the Brush Gallery is located, one day I was going there and the light was just right and wanted to do it in a really loose way, you know how I paint ! I have a way to ad too many details sometimes, so this time I stooped myself and left it loose, I figured I got the light!

Downtown Lowell

Having a studio in one of the old mills in Lowell, I have come to really love this Old Mill City full of History ! This week end alone we will have open studios at our Mill the Western Avenue Studios from noon to five both days, also a wonderful show at the loading dock gallery, called Winter Lights . Friday night A wonderful gala at the Whistler Museum with an auction to help raised money to keep the Museum going , it is one of the oldest one in the Country!

Artist statement

I am an Artist who has painted most of my life and enjoy every minute of it. My journey in the art world continually evolves keeping up with the time, I paint in many different medium and love them all. My collection of work is primarily in oils and I use watercolors for commissions, illustrations, and pastels for my own pleasure. My love for architecture shows in my work and many have compared my style with Edward Hopper. I feel honored to be compared with such wonderful artist. I paint daily in the studio and plein air when weather permits. I try to paint from life as much as possible. Last year I gave up teaching art after thirty years of private classes and, now enjoy my former student’s accomplishment in the arts. Many collectors around the world own my work and hope many more will in the future.

Handy Hints to Successful Art Buying Online

You can make your online art purchasing experiences a lot of fun, and stress-free, if you just take a few moments to follow some tried-and-tested advice.
These hints will give you the very best chance of finding quality works of art, and receiving the art in perfect condition.

1) If you see a piece of art you like on a favorite artist's Blog, don't be afraid to request a couple more photos of the work. Most artists will happily oblige. You might like to see close-up detail of some section... or perhaps an image to confirm the coloring is consistent.

2) Look for the artist's email address. Apart from a direct email contact, artists often post contact phone numbers. They do this for a reason. They would like you to phone them. So do it! If you'll feel better talking to a 'real person' make the call. But I would always recommend making direct email contact with the artist.It's helpful to have a line of communication from the point when you make your purchase, to the point when the work is dispatched to you. Most artists also would like the opportunity to follow up and ensure the work has arrived safely. Don't simply place your order and make your payment. Take the opportunity to communicate with the artist. It will make the whole process run more smoothly.

3) Consider purchasing more than one piece of art at a time.If you fall in love with the work of a particular artist, consider purchasing a piece and leaving it with the artist. Then, when you see another work by the same artist you wish to purchase, ask for both pieces to be sent together. This will reduce freight costs considerably. Most artists will be happy to hold a paid artwork in storage, especially if they realize it's because you wish to purchase a second piece.

4) Email the artist and ask them if they have any artworks not yet posted on their blog.Some artists don't have the time to post every piece on their blog. Or some pieces are displayed, and then taken down after a time. It doesn't hurt to ask the artist to email images of any works they have in their 'stock room'.... and it can be a way to discover secret treasures.
