I am so lucky to live in this gingerbread house who is also my art studio/ gallery , circa 1885 .
Thinking of using this painting as my Christmas card.
Today we had a wonderful thanksgiving dinner with the family , ate too much as usual !
telling myself I am not going to do this again ,the turkey comes out with all the trimmings and special sides , at that moment you have amnesia ,everything tasted so good , after that, you are just about in the coma ,that is what happen to all of us today! but was a great day .

Think how good your clothes smell when they dry outside! we did not have dryers in France when I grew up , it was so natural to have your laundry out , I realize the convenience ,but a waste of energy for sure ! well in the country side here in New England , you can find some nice clothes lines , and I am one who sometimes takes pictures of them !
So to continue my winter series of old houses , here is one with a clothes line .

Staying with my old classic New England farm houses , I actually painted this one in January , it's an old house in Pepperell , this town is full of them and I just love them ! talk about old houses, I am on a cleaning rampage with mine two weeks before it's the Open House tour , why do I keep so much junk ? always thinking I might use an object for a painting , I think it's an artist disease. My schedule is pretty full these days also finishing some commissions before Thanksgiving . Email me if you are interested in this painting

Actually when I went to art school , many many years ago , that was my challenge for my acceptance , it was to depict the entrance of Jeanne d'Arc in Orleans . I remember to be a big task, we did not have all the resource we have now, but I made it , wish I still had this painting , but at the time it was kept for their archives . The old school was torn down and replaced with a beautiful new one and a wonderful museum , if you visit the city , it is well worth to see it.

Girl and soldier, saint and heretic, savior - since the time of her death, Jeanne has inspired thousands of historians, poets, and painters. Each of them tells a different story. Guided by what she thought were divine voices, Jeanne revived French fortunes in the Hundred Years' War. She played a major (and somewhat mysterious) role in rallying the flagging forces of Charles VII against the English occupier in 1429, leading her troops to breaking the siege of Orléans and having Charles VII officially crowned king in Reims the same year. She was later captured and sold to the English, who burned her at the stake for heresy and perjury in 1431, in Rouen France. Her death only made her more powerful.
This watercolor is a very reasonable price of $100.00 , email me if you are interested
