"Early morning fog" pastel 5x7 ©2016 Nita Leger Casey
I worked from a
photo I took a few years ago, my friend and I had gone to Keene,NH early
in the morning when we came upon this fog lifting from a bog. The best
time to take really nice photos is early in the morning and at sun down
with it's long shadows . I have so many reference photos to work from because
I believe what ever I paint, I must have experienced that scene with my
own eyes, and that is what I feel it's an original for me. This painting is available .

A simple fall scene
16x20 Pastel
©2015 Nita Leger Casey
Fall has arrived and it is beautiful everywhere, sometimes I don't know where to look, I spent a week at my cabin watching the colors changing everyday, but we know when fall is here Winter is right around the corner ,so enjoy everyday now!
I was asked to do a demo at the Hollis Art Association few days ago and this was the result, I was pleased with it, the audience loved it. It will be available at my studio in a couple weeks, as I am going on a trip.
If you email me be patient, it might take me a few days to get to it.

L'allee du chateau
16x20 pastel
copyrighted 2013
Nita Leger Casey
Just coming back from France, it has me in a French scenes mode, I took this photo a few years back when I used to go visit my mother it was always in November, I had captured this row of trees that leaded to a small chateau, I just loved the shadows across, I had painted this scene in oil and always wanted to try it in pastel! It sometimes takes years to actually try something you always wanted to do, So this was the day! this painting will be framed under glass in a 16x20 frame . Beautiful September day painting Plein air with a few friends in Pepperell , Yesterday afternoon I had found this scene and liked it very much , this morning the shadows were stronger ,so I decided to do it again larger in Pastel , it has a different feel , the color are more brilliant , I was happy with it ! I want to go back there for a few more scenes I have sketched, September has to be the greatest month to paint outdoors !
We finish our morning with a nice lunch at the Gypsy cafe in town , great food !

September cloud, miniature ,copyrighted 2008
When I was in the fields and about to clean my paint brush yesterday, this big white cloud came up I quickly managed to capture it in a miniature, when clouds come this way you only have minutes to do it ,the scene changes so fast.
2,5x3,5 oil on board Email me if interested nlcasey@charter.net
