Home from School

I had no time to paint today! art meeting in the morning, visits with old friends , a few critiques of new paintings ,planning of summer shows . It is always a good meeting but come back to late to start a painting . As artist we do need to interact with others in the same field.
This is a painting from my fall collection , the scene is a few streets over from my house .

The red House, view from my Studio
I know, I said no more snow! but today we woke up with another coat, and my mind didn't know what to do , I looked out the window and I knew my scene for today. From my easel I see my wonderful neighbors house, when the sun is about to go down around four o'clock in the afternoon the sun shines on to the house and turns it bright red.

The old Colonials of the 1700

The days are getting longer, I think Spring is near, let's this storm pass and renew the beauty of Winter just for a few more weeks.
I wonder if the houses who are built today will last as long as the old Colonials in the back roads of Portsmouth, I don't think so...
This is to continue my series of these beautiful homes.

Stawberry Banks Portsmouth, NH

Finished my third painting of Stawberry banke , one of the oldest village in the country , lots of tourist go and visit every year.

Named by the first settlers in 1630 for the profusion of wild berries found on the shores of the Piscataqua River, Strawbery Banke is rich with history: George Washington, Daniel Webster, John Paul Jones and John Hancock were all guests on this site.

The making of Crepes

Today was Ground hog day here . When I grew up in France, it was the day you made Crepes, called La chandeleur, I would run home from school knowing my mother would make them fresh just for me, they were so delicious all rolled up with the sugar inside. The tradition was to be able to cook them flip them into the air into the pan without missing it , and all that was with one hand, in your other hand you must had a gold coin , and if you made it without any mistake.

You had enough money for the rest of the year. I have passed on this tradition to my children and grand children, last night I was gathering the ingredients for this morning's making the batter when I decided to paint the still life of it
